The name itself gives a strong hint about what LomoChrome Purple XR is all about. The film is designed to shift colors; green to purple, blue to green, pink to yellow, and supposedly red stays red. I say supposedly because with my first two rolls of film shot in Yellowstone and Moab I did not find that reds stayed all that true. Part could be do to color casts coming from light bouncing off mostly green landscapes so more testing will be needed.
The look could admittedly be created in photoshop using digital files but I jumped at the chance to use my Nikon FG again as it had been almost a year since I shot a roll of film on it. Something about advancing the film after each shot just brings a smile to my face, and due to the small battery being dead it was a fun test with no light meter.
